How to Use Your Supermom Strengths for Business Success

How to Use Your Supermom Strengths for Business Success

Being an entrepreneur is no easy task. Being a mom adds an entirely other level of complexity to your business. You’re busy trying to run a successful business in addition to all your mommy duties, household duties, and let’s not forget managing all your relationships – spouse, friends, and family.

It can be overwhelming, to say the least!

Short on time (and sometimes patience), you need to be really strategic to keep all the balls you’re juggling up in the air! So, how do you make it all work?

Tap into your supermom strengths!

As a Personal Strengths + Brand Coach, I’m all about leveraging your unique talents and strengths in your business. As moms, I believe we have an extra layer of strengths and abilities that allow us to do as much as we do!

Here are six supermom strengths to tap into for business success:

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Your child isn’t potty trained in a day. So, give yourself a break and have some patience when it comes to your business! Your business won’t be built in a day either. That’s okay! Just do what you can, when you can, and everything else will follow.

Positive Mindset

Strengths-based development is based in positive psychology. As a mom, you often need to keep a positive mindset to get through your crazy, chaotic day, to inspire your children, or to keep your head held high when times get tough. This same strength applies to your business. Positivity breeds more positivity. It comes down to the law of attraction. If you are positive, you will attract positive people. If you are negative or a debby-downer, you’ll attract negative or energy-sucking people. It’s a no-brainer which type of client you’d rather attract.

Strategic Thinking

As a mom, you’re the ultimate strategic thinker. You’re constantly strategizing your week and schedule – school, appointments, sports practices, play dates, dinner, etc. You have to have a strategy going into your week or chaos may ensue. Tapping into this strategic thinking strength in your business will be cruicial as well. Seeing your plan for your future, figuring out what will best work for you, planning your marketing and programs, and making sense of what others may see as complexity.

As a constant caretaker for your children, you show empathy when your child gets a scrape or cut on their knee, when they earn their place on the honor roll, or when they are having trouble making friends. This strength will allow you to connect to the emotions of your client, to put yourself in their shoes, and provide solutions that can help them get to a better place. Empathy can help you build relationships because your client will more easily trust you if they see you are empathetic to their situation and can build that bridge between you and your client.

Unfortunately, as a parent, it’s your job to set boundaries and discipline your child (and I mean that in a really supportive, learning type way!). Just as you may discipline your children, you should tap into this strength to discipline yourself in your business. Be diligent in carving out time to work on your business. It won’t build itself. You must put in the effort!

“Mom, I’m bored.” Have you ever heard that question? Ugh, time to get creative and think of yet another fun, new idea to entertain your child. This, however, is a really amazing strength to have in your business! Bring that creativity to your business in the same way you would with parenting. Don’t be afraid to try new ideas or approach a problem in a new way. Thinking creatively can give your business just the spark it needs to keep progressing forward.

So, there you have it! You can have it all – business success and the precious gift of motherhood. Just tap into those supermom strengths that I know you have, and you’ll be on your way to business success!
