How to automate your business for more free time.

Automation is a really helpful way to save you time in your business. All you have to do is set it up and it will be done automatically for you. Here are some ideas for things you can automate in your business.

  1. Emails- Set up autoresponders, batch prepare newsletters and schedule them out

  2. Use IFTTT.com (if this then that) to set up recipies there are thousands of combinations that you can use if you have certain things in your home you can literraly have the lights turn on before you get home.

  3. Scheduling Calls with clients- Use a scheduling website like calendly and have it  sync with your google calendar, use IFTTT.com to text you when you have a new appointment

  4. Paying bills- Select auto-payment options whenever possible (word of caution though do check what is going out each month to avoid wasting money)

  5. Social Media posts- Use scheduling apps like co-scheduler, hootsuite, buffer, edgar and postcron. Prepare your posts in batches so that it saves time going in and out every time you post. (Also working in batches helps with productivity).

  6. Income- Create a passive income product that can be sold (chek-out and all) online. Examples are an e-book, online course, app or software. I love listening to the Smart Passive Income podcast with Pat Flynn for all things passive income. 

  7. Create systems with your staff- have your staff help you with marketing by creating systems that enable communication between you and your staff. I use Trello.com for my projects and when my assistant completes things and moves things around IFTTT will text me to let me know she has completed tasks. Basically a system is a set order or way of doing things that enables you to be more productive by always doing it exactly the same.

  8. Create systems around things you do repeatedly- For example I film a lot of periscope videos so I have a system for setting up the camera, putting on the mic, where I film it is all set up in the room. All I have to do is  press record every time I scope (unless I am out and about) but generally I have a few spots in my house where everything is set up and I just have to hit start. When I got my system down I was bam doing scopes all the time because I no longer wasted time setting up and getting ready (although some days I do my hair ;)).
